SALT respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our website at https://salt-la.com (the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy is intended for a public-facing U.S. website. It describes the information we may collect automatically through your use of the Site, including through cookies and analytics tools, and explains your choices and rights.

Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Site.

Based on a review of the Site as currently built, the Site is primarily informational. It presents project portfolios, studio information, team biographies, contact details, and job openings. The contact page lists a mailing address, telephone number, and email address rather than a submission form.

At this time, SALT understands that the Site does not include:

  • contact forms;
  • newsletter signup forms;
  • user accounts;
  • login functionality;
  • stored user sessions for account features; or
  • other direct submission fields through which visitors provide personal information.

If the Site later adds new features or third-party tools that collect personal information, SALT will update this Privacy Policy before or when those features go live.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, such as:

  • your IP address or approximate location derived from it;
  • browser type and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • referring website or source;
  • pages visited on the Site;
  • dates and times of visits;
  • time spent on pages;
  • clicks, navigation paths, and general site interaction data; and
  • other similar technical or usage information generated by your browser or device.

We collect this type of information to help operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to support site functionality and analytics.

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device. Some cookies may be necessary for a website to function properly, while others are used for analytics or performance measurement.

The Site uses strictly necessary cookies and, only with your consent, Google Analytics cookies. A cookie banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies, and analytics cookies are not set unless you accept them. Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies used on the Site.

Google Analytics

SALT uses Google Analytics to better understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed, how users navigate through the Site, and general traffic patterns.

Google Analytics collects information such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • page views;
  • approximate geographic region;
  • referring source;
  • interaction data; and
  • other usage metrics generated through visits to the Site.

This information helps SALT analyze and improve the Site’s content, structure, and performance.

SALT uses Google Analytics only for basic page-view and site-use reporting. Google Analytics cookies are not activated until the visitor accepts analytics cookies through the cookie banner. SALT does not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, retargeting, or audience building.

You can also learn more about how Google processes data in connection with Google Analytics through Google’s own privacy materials.

How We Use Information

SALT may use information collected through the Site to:

  • operate and maintain the Site;
  • understand how visitors use the Site;
  • improve the Site’s content, design, and performance;
  • respond to inquiries and job applications sent to us;
  • troubleshoot technical issues;
  • protect the security and integrity of the Site;
  • detect misuse, fraud, or other harmful activity;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • enforce applicable website terms, policies, or rights.

SALT does not use website data for profile-based advertising, direct marketing lists, or the sale of personal information.

How We Share Information

SALT may share information collected through the Site only in limited circumstances, including:

  • with service providers that help build, host, maintain, secure, or analyze the Site, including our website developer;
  • with Google Analytics, our analytics provider, if you accept analytics cookies;
  • with professional advisers, such as attorneys, auditors, or insurers, where reasonably necessary;
  • with government authorities, regulators, courts, or law enforcement where required by law or legal process; and
  • in connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.

SALT does not share information more broadly than reasonably necessary for these purposes.

No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

SALT is not in the business of selling personal information and does not sell personal information collected through the Site in the ordinary course of its current website operations.

SALT does not share personal information through the Site for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Because website technology and legal standards can evolve, SALT may update this Privacy Policy if its practices change.

Your Choices

You may be able to control cookies and similar technologies through the cookie banner, your browser settings, and other tools.

Analytics cookies do not load unless you accept them through the cookie banner. If you reject them, they stay off. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Preferences link in the website footer, and withdrawing consent removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

Careers and Job Inquiries

The Site includes a careers page listing open positions. If you contact SALT about employment, whether by email, by telephone, or through any application process identified on the Site, you may provide personal information such as your name, contact details, resume or curriculum vitae, portfolio materials, work history, education, and any other information you choose to include.

SALT uses that information to evaluate your candidacy, communicate with you about the position, and maintain ordinary recruiting and employment records. SALT may retain application materials for a reasonable period in case other opportunities arise, unless you ask us not to.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in an application unless we specifically request it.

Review and Correction Requests

Because the Site is currently intended to be primarily informational and does not currently include account registration, contact forms, or other direct user-submitted data collection features, SALT does not currently maintain a routine account-based process for visitors to review or change personal information submitted through the Site.

If you have a question about information collected through the Site, you may contact SALT at studio@salt-la.com.

Data Retention

SALT retains information collected through the Site for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to operate and improve the Site, maintain security and system integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements or policies.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the systems involved, and legal or operational requirements.

Data Security

SALT uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information collected through the Site.

However, no method of transmitting data over the internet or storing electronic data is completely secure. As a result, SALT cannot guarantee absolute security.

Visitors should use the internet with appropriate caution and avoid sending sensitive information through channels not specifically designated for secure communication.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. SALT does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site.

If SALT learns that it has inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 through the Site, SALT will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

If you believe a child under 13 may have provided information through the Site, please contact SALT using the contact information below.

Links to Other Websites

The Site contains links to third-party websites and services for convenience or reference, including links to SALT’s pages on Instagram and LinkedIn and a link to the website of the design studio that built the Site.

SALT is not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third-party websites. Once you leave the Site, this Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party sites or services.

SALT encourages visitors to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites they visit.

Your Privacy Rights

SALT is based in California and may have website visitors from California and other U.S. states.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, such as the right to ask about certain personal information practices or to request deletion or correction in limited circumstances. SALT will review and respond to privacy inquiries in good faith and in accordance with applicable law.

To make a privacy inquiry, please contact SALT at studio@salt-la.com.

Nevada Privacy Disclosure

Nevada residents may have certain rights under Nevada law regarding the sale of certain covered information. As noted above, SALT does not currently sell personal information collected through the Site.

Nevada residents who have questions about this disclosure may contact SALT at studio@salt-la.com.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control Signals

Some web browsers may transmit “Do Not Track” signals. The Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals, and other than Google Analytics, which operates only if you accept analytics cookies, SALT does not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site.

Some browsers and browser extensions also transmit a Global Privacy Control signal, which communicates a visitor’s preference that personal information not be sold or shared. SALT does not sell or share personal information collected through the Site, so a Global Privacy Control signal does not change how the Site treats your information. Where the Site offers a cookie choice, that choice is honored as described above.

If SALT adopts a different practice in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

SALT may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Site, in the technologies used on it, in legal or regulatory requirements, or in SALT’s business practices.

When SALT updates this Privacy Policy, SALT will revise the Effective Date and the Last Updated date at the top of the policy. If SALT makes a material change to how it collects or uses information, SALT will take reasonable steps to bring that change to visitors’ attention, and where SALT previously obtained your consent, you may withdraw that consent through the cookie banner or by contacting SALT. Material changes will become effective when posted unless otherwise stated.

Visitors should review this Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
